French Azure Preview is now open!

Microsoft announced today – this morning at 9 AM, Azure France regions for Preview have been opened.

All enrolled Microsoft Partners and Customers that have provided their subID should by now be able to see the France Central regions and have $1000 credit. Note that any existing customer already onboarded in Preview before December 12th that has provided its subscription ID, has 3 months of sponsored subscription and up to $10K (in $1000 increments) of credit whatever happens first.

Microsoft continues to prioritize expansion of Azure to enable higher performance and availability, meet local regulatory requirements, and support customer preferences regarding data location.

The France Central region will offer the same enterprise-grade reliability and performance as existing globally available services.

An new important feature available in France is Azure Availability Zones which provide comprehensive native business continuity solutions and the highest availability in the industry with a 99.99% virtual machines uptime SLA when generally available. Availability Zones are fault-isolated locations within an Azure region, providing redundant power, cooling, and networking for higher availability and increased resiliency.

Finally, another important news concerns the Azure global network itself with the completion of the MAREA transatlantic subsea cable. As a joint project between Microsoft, Facebook and Telxius, MAREA is the highest-capacity cable to ever cross the Atlantic (between Virginia and Spain) for high speed and reliable connections to the U.S. and Europe.
